Cloak Sunday

On Palm Sunday, crowds threw their cloaks before Jesus, declaring Him king through this ancient act of submission. Yet just four days later, the same people shouted for His crucifixion. They wanted a political deliverer who would overthrow Rome, but Jesus came as a different kind of king. When He didn't meet their expectations for military victory and political power, they chose the violent insurrectionist Barabbas instead. This pattern reveals how we often surrender to Jesus on Sunday but pick up our cloaks of control when His ways don't align with our agenda. True discipleship means keeping our cloaks down even when Jesus doesn't meet our timeline or expectations.
